Guelph Organic Conference was/is this weekend, www.guelphorganicconf.ca. Sincerest apologies for taking so long to update this; it'll not be so bad next week.

The third annual Winegard Lecture in International Development will be given by David Runnalls, president of the International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD), Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 103 of Rozanski Hall.
The talk, titled "Climate Change and Development: Engaging the South in the Fight to Save the Planet," is free and open to the public.
David Runnalls currently serves on the board of the Institute of Advanced Studies of the United Nations University, the Advisory Committee on Partnerships to the Minister for International Cooperation; and the Advisory Council for Export Development Canada.

On March 29 - turn off all lights in your home and/pr business between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. to raise global awareness of climate change.
Earth Hour is a project started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia. In that first ever event, more than 1,900 businesses and government departments, and 60,000 households, participated. As a result, demand for electricity fell 10.2 per cent. Since most of Australia's electricity is generated by coal-fired hydro plants, the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions was the equivalent of taking 48,000 cars off the road for one hour.

Podcasts Played:

All from Living on Earth.

6 minutes, about eco-friendly clothing and green fashions

13 minutes, about the world without humans (a book was written about this, and they were discussing what was said in the book)
