Deep Green Resistance
A Weekend Workshop with Derrick Jensen, Aric
McBay and Lierre Keith

May 23-25, 2008, in Burlington NJ.

We live in the most destructive culture to ever exist.
In Derrick's talks around the country he repeatedly

asks his audiences, "Does anyone think this culture
will voluntarily transform to a sustainable way of
living?" No one ever says yes. If we really accept the
seriousness of the situation, what would that mean for

our strategy and tactics? This is the urgent question
we will be exploring over the weekend.

Topics to include:
Organizing the Resistance
Bringing It Down: Bottlenecks and Levers
Security Culture
Liberal vs Radical: Some Conceptual Basics

Fighting Future Fascism
Preparing for the Crash
Q & A with Derrick

April 10th (Kristi was filling in, I had an exam) podcast:
  • Living Green podcast titled Peak Oil : Participate in "The New Game for Humanity"
    • about 43 minutes long
    • Description: AndrĂ© Angelantoni, founder, Inspiring Green Leadership, hosts the free, bi-weekly Peak Oil, Climate Change and Business Online Executive Briefing, which educates businesses and individuals on the coming oil shock and how they can prepare for it.

In this episode Andre explains what peak oil is, how to educate yourself so you can take a position on this issue and how you can prepare for peak oil at an individual, family and community level. We discuss the emotional changes by discussing the 5-stage grief process as well as Andre's personal experience with ecological awakening.

Learn about the "New Game for Humanity" and the four types of players involved in this new game. Access and learn what your role is in our changing world.

April 17th Podcast:
  • David Suzuki Foundation Podcast #34: Bay Street & the Environment
    • about 25 minutes long, including enviro news (Recycle Radar Roundup)
    • "Paul Cassidy explains how securities regulations and the environment are connected."
Yes, there is breathing in the background for the majority of the podcast. My apologies, I didn't notice it when I was screening podcasts. (It's really distracting, don't you think? Argh!) it won't happen again; I'll be more organized (you may have noticed this show was a bit disorganized) in the future. Exams are almost over! :)

If anyone's curious, the course I'm going to in Algonquin park can be investigated here: http://www.chris.earthmentorship.com/Programs.html
