  • World Water Day is being celebrated all over the world on March 22. Please join The Council of Canadians (CCC) for the "Save Our Water" rally from noon to 1:00 p.m. in downtown Guelph in St. George's Square. Bring a banner or artwork to add to the display by citizens who want the right to clean, safe, public water. James Gordon and The Funky Mamas will be performing and there will be speeches from environmentalists and neighbourhood groups from across Guelph and Wellington County. This will be a fun, family-friendly event!

  • The Green Impact Guelph project - or the GIG - is a community-wide initiative working to put Guelph on the map as Canada's leader in household ernergy and water conservation!
    Be a leader in household conservation by installing your free GIG conservation kit and by taking a quick online survey. Take the survey before March 23rd for a chance to win a front-loading steam washer and gas dryer, among other great environmentally-friendly prizes.

  • Earth Hour: March 29, 2008, 8pm your local time, turn off your lights for one hour!

  • Attend the GIGActions2008 Workshop and Conservation Fair – Saturday March 29, 2008. This event focuses on conservation planning in 2008. The Workshop consists of facilitated group discussions working to develop conservation action plans that are practical enough for community implementation. Attendance to the Workshop is by reservation only so please contact us soon. The Conservation Fair is open to the public and is designed to allow community members to learn more on how individual households can reduce their impact on the environment.
